Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus, (Romans 15:5)
Holy Spirit, author of patience and giver of comfort, please give us a quiet common mind toward one another in Christ Jesus throughout this diocese.
that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Romans 15:6)
Jesus, please bring us to such a unity in you in this diocese that we glorify your father.
Therefore receive one another, just as Christ also received us, to the glory of God. (Romans 15:7)
Jesus, thank you for receiving us into your sheepfold; please help us receive one another with the same joy that you received us so that we bring glory to God.
God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ (Galatians 6:14)

Subject: September Marriage Encounter
Dear Torre & Jean and Intercessors,
We confess that we have been one of the nine instead of the one who returned to give thanks for all He has done, so please let us say a late "thank you" for your prayers over the September Marriage Encounter. We know that we were especially protected from the evil one as we prepared to present that weekend. There was a strong thunderstorm on Thursday night, and as often happens we lost power. John started our generator, which we now realize was struck by lightening. We discovered the next day that current had forced its way backward into our home, leaving smelly black residue around a now melted outside electrical outlet. After work on Friday afternoon we were packing the car to go the SLC and John called National Grid, only to be told that we own the transformer and all the wiring between the pole and our house. They told us to hire a private electrician, which we planned to do sometime after the weekend. We started on our way and about half way to Greenwich we realized that we had forgotten the all-necessary snacks and turned around. Much to our surprise there was a National Grid repairman in front of the house, who checked everything out for us and immediately disabled the burned out outlet that still had current flowing. We praise God for protecting our home and our daughter by sending his angel in a repair van! And, how wonderfully abundant is His provision by putting a local professional electrician and his wife on the Marriage Encounter Weekend. God is Great. The next miracle called Marriage Encounter will be held February 22-24, 2008 In Christ's service, Terry and Fr John Bassett
